Executive Functioning Tutoring
Teach Executive Functioning Skills through
Schoolwork
What is Executive Functioning (EF)?
EF is the actions we take to follow through and complete tasks. EF skills help us organize our physical (and digital!) materials, manage our time, plan activities, prepare for tests, and regulate our emotions and mindset. It is a vital component of schoolwork and everyday life.
Students Don’t Wake Up with Fully Developed EF skills.
At Blockhead Tutoring, we believe they need to be explicitly taught, one step at a time, across various assignments.
Our tutor will take the time to get to know your child’s learning style, strengths, and weaknesses so that they can effectively learn these skills and gain independence. In the following areas:

Blockhead Tutoring’s Goal
We teach your child executive functioning skills through their school work. Blockhead Tutoring works with students across Chicago’s North Shore.
We partner with local schools to develop a program that best fits the student.
Our Process:
We help students improve both their content knowledge and executive functioning skills. During each session, we use homework, project work, and upcoming tests and quizzes to teach a variety of executive functioning skills. This helps students take ownership of their work and gain independence.
